Week of November 11, 2019
The afternoon enrichment classes this week include “J” letter recognition and cutting activity on Monday. On Tuesday in Movement and Music the children will practice jumping using tinikling sticks and sing Thanksgiving songs and they will share what they are thankful for. Wednesday, Miss Judy and Mr. Freed will come to teach basic Karate skills and additionally, they will use their imagination to make up a story after looking at the characters on a totem pole. On Friday they will practice Spanish words for simple shapes.
Week of November 4, 2019
The afternoon enrichment classes this week include “I” letter recognition and cutting activity on Monday. On Tuesday, the children will listen the “The First Thanksgiving” story and make a bracelet, and will have the opportunity to “vote”. On Wednesday, they will have fun retelling a story and singing a story song and Coach Ed will help develop balance, ball handling and listening skills. On Thursday the children will discover how little creatures prepare for cold weather. In addition this Thursday, the children will learn a tapping rhythm using rhythm sticks and learn an Indian chant. Finally, on Friday they will practice Spanish words including colors and numbers.
Week of October 28, 2019
The afternoon enrichment classes this week include “H” letter recognition and cutting activity on Monday and listening to a Halloween story and create a special not so scary snack for cooking class on Tuesday. In addition the children will begin Thanksgiving songs of thankfulness and make a placemat. On Wednesday, the children will see what happens during “The Halloween Performance” and they will help perform the story, “The House that Jack Haunted” and will participate in playball activities with Coach Ed. On Thursday, we’ll find out about squirrels and how they get ready for winter and will sing and play Halloween games and enjoy an outside bubble activity.

Tuesday: Cooking Class: Creating a yummy cornucopia snack and listening to a Thanksgiving story
Music and Movement Class: Itsy, Bitsy, Spider; Movements with a partner,
Wednesday: Theater Game: Acting out the story of the Gingerbread Man; Playball with Coach Ed will include taking turns, good sportsmanship and body awareness skills
Thursday: All About Animal: this week the children will learn about goats; Listening Game:
Friday: Spanish: learning words for simple shapes as well as stretching, walking, galloping, skipping and jogging, warm-up, work out and cool down activity.
Week of October 14, 2019
The afternoon enrichment classes this week will have lots of activities. Monday will include “F” letter recognition and a cutting activity, Tuesday is cooking a snack and listening to a Halloween story and taking turns while playing a circle game and singing the motions. On Wednesday, the children will pretend by using their feelings and Coach Ed will continue ball bouncing, ladder jumps, walking backwards, skipping and hopping. On Thursday, we’ll find out about the life cycle of a frog, learn to listen to directions in finding an acorn for a squirrel and play another listening game of Frankenstein. On Friday we’ll continue reviewing Spanish color words as well as exercising through the alphabet.
Week of October 7, 2019
This week’s enrichment classes will include learning the E-A-G-L-E-S theme song as well as learning about our national emblem, the bald eagle, ball handling, balance, taking turns, listening skills and community helpers.
Additional afternoon enrichment classes this week include “E” letter recognition and cutting activity on Monday, story and a snack on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will recreate Christopher Columbus’ famous trip. On Thursday we’ll find out about Eagles. On Friday we’ll continue reviewing Spanish color words and we’ll be exercising through the alphabet.
Week of September 30, 2019
This week’s enrichment classes include playing a game while learning a chant about a doggie and his bone, singing songs of the season, jumping, hopping, throwing and catching beanbags, following oral instructions and reinforcing the concepts above, under, around, and next to. Additional activities will include “D” letter recognition and cutting activity; story and a snack; we will use our imaginations to extend a popular nursery rhyme; we’ll find out about Dinosaurs; review Spanish color words; and exercise through the alphabet.
Week of September 23, 2019
This week includes music and movement with band instruments, Playball balance, ball handling and listening skills with Coach Ed, listening and following directions after a story, “C” letter recognition and cutting activity; all about community helpers; improv games and finger poems; all about Cats; Spanish Fall color words; and exercising through the alphabet.
Week of September 16, 2019
This week includes: Music and movement skills to songs, Playball skills and following directions, balance on one and both feet, ball handling, listening and responding to a story with actions, “B” letter recognition and cutting activity, making new friends /name game, improv games and finger poems, all about Bears, Spanish color words, and exercising through the alphabet.
Week of September 9, 2019
This week’s activities include circle games, listening to directions using a chant, Play ball balance skills, jumping, holding and throwing a ball.
Storytelling Enrichment Class:
Storytelling enrichment with a class will have a variety of performances such as: The Three Little Pigs. This talented class has performed as monkeys, ducks, hens, cats and even Humpty Dumpty every Tuesday afternoon during February
Playball Enrichment Class:
Enrichment class with Coach Ed Swayze called Playball. Playball will give children competence in sports and help them improve gross motor development, increase concentration skills, build low muscle tone, improve balance and teach basic life skills. At Playball, the children will learn persistence, courage, cooperation, respect, positive relationships and self-worth.
